Anand is a City and a HeadQuarter of ANAND District Gujarat, India.

City
Anand is known as the Milk Capital of India. It became famous for Amul dairy and its Milk revolution. This City hosts the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) of India and Anand Agricultural University www.aau.in. Information Technology Centre headed by Dr. Sarvaiya
Anand lies between Ahmedabad and Vadodara and is a major railway stop on this line.

District
Anand district was carved out of the Kheda district in 1997. Anand City is the administrative headquarters of this district. It is surrounded by Kheda (North), Vadodara (East), and Ahmedabad (West) districts. To the south is the Gulf of Cambay.
