Anal canal
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The anal canal is the final part of the digestive tract in most animals, it is situated between the rectum and anus, in humans it is approximately 2.5 to 4 cm long, and narrower than the rectum.
It is differentiated from the rectum by the transition of the internal surface from endodermal to skinlike ectodermal tissue.
