An Essay on the Inequality of the Human Races
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
An Essay on the Inequality of the Human Races by Joseph Arthur Comte de Gobineau is an early and significant work defining the concept of Scientific racism and White supremacy.
Dr. Josiah Clark Nott translated Arthur de Gobineau's "Essai sur l'inegalite des races humaine" into English. Nott later became a leader of the polygenist movement, suggesting that Whites and Blacks were two distinct species.
Gobineau's work has been continuously republished, most recently by contemporary White supremacist groups such as the now defunct Noontide Press.
