Actor (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Actor was a son of King Deion, of Phocis and Diomede, the daughter of Xuthus. He had at least one son by Aegina, the daughter of the river god Asopus: Menoetius. Menoetius was king of Opus, and was counted among the Argonauts. Actor was the grandfather of Patroclus (Achilles' best friend or lover), whom was Menoetius' son. It has also been recorded that Actor was the father of Astyoche, by whom Ares begot two sons, Ascalaphus and Lalmenus.
