Acid may refer to—

  • a chemical compound generally defined by its reactions with complementary chemicals, designated bases.
  • a slang term for a drug also called LSD or D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (C20H25N3O). It is a powerful synthetic hallucinogen and psychedelic entheogen originally derived from ergot fungus.
  • a form of electronic music that is most easily described as the sound made by a Roland TB-303 music synthesizer, and is where the term Acid House originates. It is a very important term in electronic music, often confused with the LSD reference.
  • Acid2, a test page designed to quickly identify flaws in web browsers.
  • In the computer art scene, ACiD is an acronym for ANSI Creators in Demand; a group which creates and distributes digital art and related software programs.
