AVISynth is a frameserver for computers running Windows. It acts as a codec for AVISynth scripts, which are text files written in the AVISynth scripting language (http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=AviSynthManual). The scripting language of AVISynth is designed for video work, and can be extended through the use of plugins. A plugin list is maintained at AVISynth Filter Collection (http://www.avisynth.org/warpenterprises/).

AVISynth 3.0
AVISynth 3.0 is a complete rewrite of AVISynth 2.5. It is being developed to offer more powerful frameserving capabilities through improvements such as an abstracted color space model, in which new color spaces can be supported through a plug-in mechanism, and a more powerful scripting language. AVISynth 3.0 is being developed for both Windows and GNU/Linux.
