From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

(Redirected from ASLEF)

The Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) is a British trade union. It was founded in 1880 and is one of the trade unions representing train drivers (the other is the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, [RMT]). Its current general secretary is Lew Adams.

It is part of the International Transport Workers' Federation and the European Transport Workers Federation.

According to the character 'Rik' in BBC TV's the Young Ones, ASLEF is an anagram for 'total and complete bastard'.
