'Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah(1885-1950) was sheikh of Kuwait from 1921 to 1950 and 10th ruler of Al-Sabah dynasty of Kuwait. He was born in 1885 in Kuwait as son of Jaber, who was shaykh of Kuwait from 1915 till 1917. He took power after the death of his uncle Sheikh Salim al-Sabah in 1921; the borders of Kuwait were finally set during his reign by the British, though he wasn't really in support of the new border treaty, as approximately one third of Kuwait's territory was lost to neighboring Iraq and Saudi Arabia via this treaty.
